About

Hey there,

My name is Lee and I’m a guitarist based in Cardiff, UK. I’ve been a musician for twenty-five years, and a teacher for eighteen years.

As a Teacher, I have 18 years of teaching experience where I’ve taught guitar privately (in person and online), in schools and colleges, in offices, and in community-based workshops to hundreds of different people of all ages and abilities around South Wales and London.

I’m also one of a very few JustinGuitar Approved Teachers.

The Justin Guitar Approved Teachers and Artists

As a Student, I’ve studied with some of the very best guitar teachers in the UK: Justin Sandercoe (JustinGuitar.com), Martin Goulding (Guitar Techniques Magazine), and Dario Cortese (ICMP London). I hold a BSc Honours degree in Music Technology, NOCN qualification in Creative Music Making, and I reached the 2009 ICMP Guitar Diploma Scholarship Finals in London.

As a Performer from 2000 to 2010 (in the days of CDs), I regularly gigged original music around South Wales and the UK.

Now with more of a focus on family life and teaching, I no longer gig. But I still write (guitar loops) and occasionally put out the odd video on Instagram.

Outside of music, my favourite things are family adventures with my wife and eight-year-old twins, playing lots of tennis, healthy living, and getting together with family and friends.

About My Website

Student Support

As well as providing information about myself and my services, this website also acts as an additional support platform for all of my students. Here, students can find additional materials relating to their lessons. This is especially helpful when students get stuck with something at home.

My Own Self Improvement

I believe it’s really important for all teachers to self-evaluate, reflect and continue learning to become the best they can be. So this website is also a place where I can publicly explore, experiment and reflect on various teaching ideas.
